Holy Ghost Party is David Jacober and Zachary Utz. The band formed in 2009 and has undergone several stylistic changes since its inception. Starting as an experimental pop project largely created on laptops in bedrooms, the project has since morphed into its current incarnation as a guitar/drums improvised music duo. Together Zach and Dave draw on the influences of Kraut, Jazz, Blues, Psych, Electronic and Ambient to create a perpetually morphing, free floating groove which usually involves the pummeling of one note from a myriad of directions and dynamics; think of an updated version of Blue Cheer sans power vocals. Dave and Zach rely heavily on processing and effects to subvert the more cliche qualities of their respective instruments into a fried and hazy abstraction.
